Hallo Ihr Lieben, wenn wir einmal etwas angestoßen haben, lässt es sich nicht mehr aufhalten. So geht es mir mit der „Sprachlosigkeit des Herzens“, die mich seit Monaten bewegt. Es ist die Beschreibung eines gefühlten Zustandes, auf den ich schon öfter hingewiesen habe und dazu kam vor einiger Zeit „aus heiterem Himmel“ ein weiterer Hinweis in Form eines Artikels des (Un)Logikers Graham Priest in der ZEIT über die Frage:
Wohl bemerkt: Ein eher ungewöhnlicher Stoff und dennoch wollte ich es wissen und meine Ahnung sollte belohnt werden durch die (un)erwartete Aussage des Buddhas.
Hier ein Auszug, sozusagen um den geistigen Appetit anzuregen für deinen eigenen Exkurs zur fünften Ecke des Quadrats…
Der Buddha (Siddhārtha Gautama, circa 450 vor unserer Zeit) beantwortet die Fragen eines Wissbegierigen namens Vaccha. Der Dialog geht ungefähr so:
Vaccha: Wir wissen, dass es möglich ist, in diesem Leben Erleuchtung zu erlangen (weil du es getan hast), aber was geschieht mit erleuchteten Personen nach ihrem Tod? Existieren sie noch?
Buddha: Nein, das behaupte ich nicht.
Vaccha: Nun, dann existieren sie also nicht?
Buddha: Nein, das behaupte ich nicht.
Vaccha: Also existieren sie und existieren zugleich nicht.
Buddha: Nein, das behaupte ich nicht.
Vaccha: Gut. Also weder existieren sie, noch existieren sie nicht.
Buddha: Nein, das behaupte ich nicht.
Der Buddha ist ein wenig ausweichend. Warum, darüber streiten die Gelehrten. In manchen der Sutren, die solche Dialoge überliefern, sagt der Buddha anschließend: „Schau, ich erzähle dir, wie du dein Leben verbessern kannst, und du willst die Zeit mit Metaphysik verschwenden?!“
